Action Needed by August 15: IAM test option preparation (NetID Login)

Posted on August 1, 2024

This communication is being sent to contacts for systems using NetID Login that are not yet linked to the list of ancillary systems and receiving name and/or UDDS data via NetID Login.

Dear Colleagues,

As a contact for a system that uses NetID Login, we are seeking information about your system. Your input will inform what testing options the Identity & Access Management (IAM) Team recommends for your system and will inform the IAM Team’s next steps as we work to make data from Workday available to you. The IAM Team cannot provide appropriate testing recommendations related to the Workday implementation without this information.

To do

  • Update the NetID Login Validate System Info sheet
    • Use the instructions under the “Directions” tab.
    • Complete this by August 15, 2024.
    • The questions likely require input from a member of your technical team.
    • This will take approximately 15 minutes per system.
    • Attend FAQ Session for IAM NetID Login Action Items on August 15
      • Read about the August 15 event here

To know

  • Workday implementation for systems using NetID Login:
    • Testing NetID Login connection is only necessary if the system receives name data and/or UDDS data via the NetID Login connection.
    • Workday will make data available as UTF8. Therefore, NetID Login will deliver name data as UTF8. If your system is unable to consume UTF8, IAM will provide your system with name data with ASCII characters.
      • The above data collection efforts include informing IAM if your system can receive UTF8 name data. Review Unformatted Data: ASCII to UTF8 for more information on UTF8.
  • For the Workday implementation, IAM will:
    • Iterate and provide resources via the Ancillary Systems Program Website.
    • Communicate directly with Ancillary System Owners.
    • Communicate when technical testing for IAM integrations used by ancillary systems can begin.

Questions? Work through your assigned Readiness Project Manager or Technical Coach (as applicable).

Thank you,
Identity & Access Management Team
