Subject: ATP Integrations Follow-up | Workday Organizations Realignment and UDDS Guidance Updates
This communication is being sent to CIOs; IT Readiness Leads; campus technical coaches, solutions architects, architect coaches; and ancillary system technical and business contacts for systems with a disposition of Keep, Partial Replace, Replace, Not Yet Reviewed, or TBD.
Dear colleagues,
In October 2024, we shared information about September’s updated ATP guidance that would allow us to leverage existing relationships between multiple Workday organizations (i.e., Cost Center Hierarchy and Supervisory Organization) to establish a similar, standardized organization for the Universities of Wisconsin. To achieve this, campus partners were asked to standardize their use of the Cost Center Hierarchy and remap Cost Centers, while also reviewing their Supervisory Organizations to ensure that default Cost Centers were assigned appropriately. These functional activities at all UW universities began in October 2024 and wrapped up in January 2025.
We write today to share that, moving forward, the Supervisory Organization (Sup Org) structure grouped by Cost Center Hierarchy Level (CCHL) in Workday will be referred to as the UW Organization Structure. Every worker has a “home” institution, a “home” executive office (either a Provost, Vice Chancellor, or Senior Vice President), a “home” division, and a “home” department for each position they hold. These units are represented and relate to one another in the UW Organization Structure.
Nothing about the guidance from October has changed—we just now have a standard way to refer to it. To support this, a new UW Organization Structure web page was published on the ATP Secure site on February 3. This resource includes sample data and links to relevant resources, including a newly published Worker Directory Tableau dashboard.
We encourage you to carefully read and understand this information, so you can successfully make the transition to Workday.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us via the ATP Integrations Contact Form.
Best,
