This communication is being sent to contacts for systems using Campus Active Directory (CAD) to receive name data.
Dear Colleagues,
As a contact for a system that receives name data via Campus Active Directory (CAD), we are sharing information on how to complete the required testing for your system. The testing window is November 18th – December 18th. This is the only testing window that will be offered to these systems. Your testing results determine which version of name your system will leverage from Campus Active Directory after Workday goes live in July 2025.
Systems that are not tested may have negative implications within their system at go-live (i.e. names aren’t readable or accounts are inappropriately deprovisioned).
Systems that can consume UTF8 characters should use UTF8 name data. Names displayed with UTF8 are more inclusive and better represent users’ identities. However, we recognize not every system will be UTF8 enabled.
To do
- Review the testing directions: CAD Testing Name Directions
- Identify your systems that require testing.
- Schedule time to complete testing for each of your systems before December 18.
- Plan to attend at least one of the Q&A sessions to ask questions about this testing process.
These optional Q&A sessions will not be a presentation but rather a forum for you to ask questions that were not answered in the testing directions.

*The NetIDs for the test user accounts will end with the NetID for each person given access to test a CAD service account.
- Passwords for the NetIDs for the test user accounts will be available until Friday, November 22nd, in a OnetimeSecret link that will be shared directly with each tester via MS Teams.

To know
- Workday will make data available as UTF8 without character limits.
- For the Workday implementation, IAM will iterate and provide resources via the Ancillary Systems Program Website and communicate directly with Ancillary System Owners.
